Exhibits to go digital

CARMARTHEN Town Council is to make digital scans of historic documents and photos in its possession.

The documents in the town's civic collection will then be transferred to the county archives and museum.

An exhibition of town photos and artifacts will then be put on display Replica Hermes Handbags at St Peter's Civic Hall.

Along with photographs the exhibition is expected to feature paintings and objects of historical importance to the town.

In addition to the public exhibition the committee room at the town council offices will have a framed list of past mayors put on the wall, akin to the Carmarthen Kalendar at the National Library of Wales which lists mayors between 1400 and 1700.

Calls have also been made for a replica of the Black Book of Carmarthen to be made available to the town council and to be displayed.
