A POLICE support officer has launched a bike repair club after children kept asking for help with their cycles.
breitling watchesPCSO Simon Childs is running the scheme in Ironville and Riddings with the backing of Amber Valley and Derbyshire councillor Paul Smith, who provided cash to buy safety equipment like lights.
Mr Childs said: "We are looking at things like repairing a puncture, checking brakes, replacing a bike chain and adjusting gears."
The Heel boots club is aimed at children between 10 and 15.
Derbyshire police donated some bikes for them to practice on and a cycle proficiency course is also being run to make youngsters safer on the roads.
