Bartlett sparkles with double

Rowing: Nottingham Rowing Club's Katie Bartlett took double gold on the same day at the British Rowing Championships in Scotland.

The 16-year-old won medals in sculling and rowing as Nottingham impressed at the Strathclyde Country Park.

Bartlett, sculling with friends from Latymer Upper School and Dame Alice Harper, won gold in the women's quadruple sculls.

Later, she joined a composite junior eight and won gold again in the women's eights.

Bartlett, a pupil at Trinity School Aspley, is coached by world class coach Julie Edwards.

Five more medals were won by the club on the same day.

Silver medals went to Nicola Spencer and Athelie Redwood-Brown in women's lightweight double sculls.

The men's four of Richard Whatton, Andreas Endruit, Mark Child and Ray Hughes took silver in the coxless fours. George McKirdy, Rob Yates, Matt Ley and George Caines came fourth. The two fours combined in an eight and won silver.

Alicia Brown (Arnold Hill School) won silver in women's junior sculls.

Catherine Hurst and Laura Wheeler from Trent Rowing Club, took the bronze medal in women's coxless pairs.

Alexandra Millett (Becket School) and Anna Smart from Marlow Rowing Club won the bronze in the women's J15 double sculls.

Dominic Parnell and Connor Gamble took bronze in the boys' J14 double sculls.

Edward Fisher, George Greenfield, Dominic Harrison and Tom Selby also won silver in the boys' J16 quadruple sculls.

Bill Payne got back into his single at Molesey Regatta at the weekend and won single sculls.
